Airpot Corporation announces a specially designed long length (up to 1 meter) Airpel Anti-Stiction actuator that meets the needs of coordinate measuring machine and other metrology device manufacturers for a low friction counterbalance device to allow smooth movement and precise positioning of the z-axis measuring arm while manipulating the device through its measurement range.

Powerful High Speed Brushless 16 mm DC Micromotors With Speeds Of Up To 60,000 rpm!



Maxon’s EC16 is a brushless DC motor with a diameter of only 16mm, a length of 56mm and a power rating of 40 Watt!

The speed range of this fast running motor is from 0 to 60,000 rpm. Lower speeds and a corresponding high torque can be implemented with a planetary gear from the maxon modular system. Brushless DC motors need the information of the actual rotor position for the electronic commutation of the three phases. With the available motor, the proven concept to separate the control magnet from the main magnet has been applied.

Off-The-Shelf, Low Cost, High Precision Linear Positioning Stages From LM76



New “Slipstream” Series 1 linear stages are available from LM76, Inc.! These low cost, ready-to-run, compact linear stages feature 0.2 mm/300 mm accuracy and 0.1 mm repeatability. Available in travel lengths to 6 meters these easy to install precision stages have “T-Slots” on three sides for installation and/or accessories. The “Slipstream” linear stages are ideal for: Robotics, pick-and-place, assembly, packaging, sampling, testing and other precision positioning applications.

Motor options for “Slipstream” linear stages include a NEMA 23 Stepper, and a 100 W or 200 W servo-motor with encoder. Motors can be mounted on the left or right side and a fail-safe brake is available as an option. Mounting configurations include: X, Y, and Z axes, and gantries.

Fiber Optic Rotary Encoder for MRI and other Extreme Electromagnetic Environments!



Micronor's new TD5207 non-metallic fiber optic rotary encoder is designed specifically for use in motion control systems operating in extreme electromagnetic fields. Medical diagnostic and research applications include MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or NMR tomography (nuclear magnetic resonance) imaging systems. Industrial applications include electromagnetic phase or similar separation processes. The encoder also serves as the control feedback for pneumatic or hydraulic drive systems purposely operated in these same extreme environments and applications.
